Stephen was born in South Wales to a family with a tradition of pursuing the medical professions. But with a strong interest in history, and a talent for looking behind the official story, he chose to follow his own road.

He has always enjoyed writing and, through a portfolio of careers, it has emerged as a constant theme building to the point where he published his first novel "The Tsar's Banker". Since then he has written two further books to complete "The Tagleva Trilogy".

When not working, Stephen enjoys golf, swimming, cooking and travel.
